As the name suggests, this page is an exchange point and the idea is that local needs and concerns may be brought to the attention here, a bit like a community bulletin board. Email the web editor with requests for inclusion or removal of messages.
From: The Wivenhoe Youth Club
Volunteers wanted
Wivenhoe’s popular youth club, known locally as the Hub, is approaching its second anniversary. Tuesday evenings are busier than ever, with more than 50 youngsters regularly enjoying the friendly atmosphere at Phillip Road. Thursday evenings attract a smaller crowd of young teens and the club is keen to expand its provision for this age group. Run entirely by volunteers, some of whom have fond memories of the old Wivenhoe youth club, the Hub is keen to recruit new helpers. “It’s a friendly place and satisfying work,” says Michael Padmore, the volunteer co-ordinator. Contact Michael on 826991 if you can help or email: thehub08@googlemail.com. There is more information about the club, together with some pictures and an audio recording on this blog
